I’ve teamed up with Quinton Pretorius to offer a new Cultural Intelligence (CQ) leadership adventure in South Africa – the CQ Safari Learning Journey. Our website is now live and you can register and sign up for our live, virtual Q&A session in October. Read on for our program profile…

The CQ Safari Learning Journey is is a transformational leadership experience where the African bush becomes your classroom, your mirror, and your teacher. On this new Learning Journey, we see how our work in CQ parallels natural processes. We’ll pause the hectic pace of our lives to connect with the natural world and honor its lessons. This experience will take you to the Eastern Cape of South Africa to develop your leadership skills among some of the planet’s most iconic wildlife.

Step away from the noise of everyday work and step into a space designed for reflection, perspective, and growth.

Leadership begins with awareness, but leaders rarely get the space to pause, reflect, and think clearly. The CQ Safari experience invites you into a powerful environment where nature, conversation, and reflection create the conditions for real growth. You’ll return with renewed clarity, stronger relationships, and practical leadership habits.

This is a different kind of Leadership Journey. Upon arrival, you’ll disconnect from the pace of work and leave behind the noise, deadlines, and constant demands. The wilderness creates space to pay attention to what often gets missed. In our work together, we’ll challenge assumptions and explore varied perspectives.

We’ll examine the connections among the CQ Capabilities and the wildlife with which we share the planet. You’ll develop the courage to lead differently. When you leave, you’ll take the transformation home with you in the form of habit changes, renewed clarity, and personal commitment.

Our program base will be Kuzuko Lodge, which is part of the adventure and the transformation. You’ll be surrounded by 35,000 acres of wilderness in a private reserve that’s home to the Big Five.

The Lodge has achieved a zero carbon footprint and maintains conservation, rewilding, and endangered species programs. They and their associated Kuzuko Foundation also contribute to community development by employing locals and offering environmental education, internships, resource provision, and mentorship opportunities. Your relaxation into this environment of natural and cultural goodwill will be deepened with rest in luxury chalets, optional spa experiences, panoramic views, and spaces for reflection.

Your facilitators, Quinton Pretorius and Athena Anderson, have extensive experience in Cultural Intelligence, leadership training, ecology, and education. Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime learning adventure on the CQ Safari Learning Journey.
