This content is based on a post originally published on July 29, 2012, on my blog “Pollinators Info” (no longer online).

SHARE stands for Simply Have Areas Reserved for the Environment, and is a program from the Pollinator Partnership (P2). This is a neat idea that encourages everyone to have even a small area on their property dedicated to wildlife, especially pollinators. Anyone can participate, and even add your information to a global network of folks SHAREing their land with pollinators!

In order to register your landscape with the SHARE program, you’ll be asked to do the following:

  • Plan and Plant: be sure your habitat includes food, water, and shelter for pollinators.
  • Register with the SHARE system.
  • Monitor: watch how pollinators and other wildlife use your landscape and record your observations.
  • Report: tell the SHARE community what you’ve observed and get access to more resources and a sign for your landscape!

P2 has a lot of free resources to help you plan and monitor your landscape, so click on the link above to learn more… and thanks for helping pollinators!
